Which programme should I choose?

If you’re new to SGDA, start with your dancer’s age below. As dancers progress through the Academy, some programme placements are based on ability and experience rather than age alone.

Not sure where they fit? Don’t worry. Book the closest appropriate trial and our teaching team can advise you.

  • Their very first introduction to dance.

    Fun, nurturing classes designed to build confidence, coordination, musicality and a genuine love of dancing from the very beginning.

    Classes include:
    Tiny Toes • Budding Dancers • Pre-Primary Ballet

  • Big imaginations, growing confidence and lots of dancing.

    Our Minis programme gives younger dancers the chance to explore different styles in fun, age-appropriate classes while developing the foundations they will need as they progress.

    Classes include:
    Ballet • Tap • Musical Theatre • Commercial • Acrobatics

  • Building strong foundations across a range of dance styles.

    Dancers can begin to develop their technique, performance skills and confidence while discovering the styles they enjoy most.

  • For dancers ready to take the next step.

    Our Progression programme introduces more challenging technical work while continuing to develop confidence, musicality and performance.

  • For dancers ready for increased challenge and technical development.

    Aspire bridges the gap between our Progression and Development programmes, with placement based on age, experience and current technical level.

  • Developing confident, versatile dancers.

    Classes become increasingly technical while giving dancers the opportunity to develop their individual performance style and continue progressing across their chosen disciplines.

  • Advanced training with space to keep developing.

    Bridge is designed for experienced dancers working at a higher technical level, whether dance is a much-loved hobby or something they may wish to pursue further.

  • Our highest level of Academy training.

    For experienced senior dancers looking for challenging classes, continued technical development and high-level training within SGDA.

    This is a selective programme.

You don’t need to work it all out before booking. Choose the programme that looks closest to your dancer’s age and experience and book a trial. If we feel another class would suit them better, we’ll help you find the right one.
