Core Technique Programme (4y-7y)
Exploring movement, building confidence, and discovering favourite styles.
At SGDA, our Core Technique programme gives children the chance to explore a variety of dance styles in a fun, structured environment.
At this stage, dancers begin to develop stronger coordination, rhythm and focus, while still enjoying plenty of creativity and imagination.
Children are encouraged to try different classes, discover what they love, and build the confidence that will support them as they develop into our Progression programme.

“Ava has danced at SGDA since age 3 and has thrived under the care of Mrs Day, Miss Warburton and the team. The teachers truly get the best out of their students, providing fantastic opportunities and a supportive environment.
Ava loves coming each week to dance with her friends.”

At this stage, children attend classes independently while parents wait outside the studio. Some dancers run in with excitement, others need time to warm up - both are completely normal.
Our teachers are experienced in supporting children who may be shy at first and will always encourage them at their own pace.
Parents are invited in for their child’s trial class and to watch weeks to celebrate progress.
-
After our Core Technique Programme, dancers naturally move into our Progression Programme where they continue ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre and more, with the option of exams and performance opportunities.
